CheerForce Flyers FAQ's

So You Want To Be An All-Star Cheerleader?

What is All-Star Cheerleading?
All Star Cheerleading is becoming one of the fastest growing sports in Canada. Combining gymnastics, stunting, acrobats and dance into a synchronized, high energy choreographed routine lasting 2 – 2 ½ minutes, All-Star Cheerleading DOES NOT involve cheering for a team. It is a competition-based sport where teams compete 5-9 times
per season against other teams of similar abilities and skill level.

How Much Experience Do I Need?
Absolutely NONE! We have teams for EVERY ability level. In fact, many of our athletes are enjoying cheerleading for the first time. The new 5-level skill system lets everyone participate, whether they are brand new to the sport or elite gymnasts.

How Often Do I Train?
During the summer months all our teams train once per week. During the competition season teams train anywhere from 2 to 5 times over a 2 week period.
All-Star cheerleading has become a year round activity. Tryouts are in May and the season begins June 1st. Competition season usually runs from late October until early May.

How Much Will I Travel?
All of our teams travel throughout southern Ontario (Kitchener to Kingston). All of our level 3, 4 and 5 teams will be taking overnight trips to the United States for competitions. Our level 4 and 5 teams will compete in multi-day MAJOR US NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.

What Does A Private Team Placement Evaluation Involve?
A private evaluation will start by meeting one of the program head coaches at a CheerForce training location, typically on a night when similar-aged athletes will be training. We like to get you involved right away. You will take part in most aspects of the teams practice, possibly followed by some additional skill evaluation.  At the conclusion of the evaluation we will determine which team will provide the best fit for your skills and potential.
